As part of the National Indigenous History Month, Land InSights and the NEM are joining up to present the Exploratory Event “Discovering Uiesh by Tim Brady,” a work based on poems in Innu‐aimun by Joséphine Bacon.
Hosted by André Dudemaine, Cultural Activities Director of Land InSights, this event will be a journey into the sensory and poetic universe of Joséphine Bacon, as well as a foray into the artistic process of Tim Brady.
Through poetry readings and musical interludes, the artists will share with the audience the rich collaborative work that went into making Uiesh, for voice (Deantha Edmunds) and 14 instrumentalists. The world premiere of the work will take place on August 14, 2022, as part of the Montreal First Peoples’ Festival.
We invite the public to this evening of music and words that promises to be deeply unifying and supportive.
Part of the Exploration stream of NEM activities, the Exploratory Events showcase musical presentations and discussions, in which all those involved – artists, creators, composers, musicians and audiences – engage in dialogue and share various aspects of music creation.
