The Nouvel Ensemble Moderne (NEM) is a chamber orchestra composed of 15 permanent solo musicians. 

Since its founding in 1989, the Ensemble has built a solid reputation. An essential leader in its field, NEM is recognized for its modernism and excellence in all aspects of interpretation, creation and preservation of 20th and 21st century musical works. In the practice of its musical activities, NEM has always been committed to sharing its passion and expertise with new generations. The Ensemble regularly organizes concerts and events to train emerging musicians in the interpretation of new music, and to give voice to young composers from here and abroad. NEM is under the artistic and musical direction of Jean-Michaël Lavoie.

The Position

Under the supervision of general management, you ensure the brand's visibility by implementing promotional and communication initiatives. You will be responsible for managing and implementing various marketing and communication initiatives: content development and publication as well as graphic design supervision.

Main Responsibilities

  • Enhance the organization's image and affirm its identity;
  • Follow-up on the external communication plan: management of the annual editorial calendar and design of the communication plan;
  • Social media management: posts, stories and event creation;
  • Creation, writing, translation management and sending of newsletters (Mailchimp);
  • Creation, writing, translation management and sending of press releases;
  • Participate in website updates;
  • Ensure follow-up on visibility exchanges with our partners;
  • Participate in the creation of printed promotional material;
  • Philanthropy, in collaboration with general management;
  • Develop and integrate philanthropic actions into the communication plan.

Main Skills Required

  • Excellent ability to manage multiple projects/files simultaneously;
  • Good organizational skills and priority management;
  • Good adaptability, autonomy and initiative;
  • Excellent writing skills in French;
  • Mastery of social media;
  • Knowledge of communication tools;
  • Knowledge of Google suite: Gmail, Google Drive, Dropbox;
  • Understanding of the organization's challenges;
  • Knowledge of Montreal's arts and culture;
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design (Adobe) an asset.

Requirements

  • You have completed a bachelor's degree in communication, marketing or other relevant field and have a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • You have good knowledge of the Web and social media.
  • You master Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Creative (an asset), and MailChimp.
  • You have good knowledge of photography, video and graphic design.
  • Bilingual, you have perfect command of written and spoken French.
  • An understanding of the cultural milieu and modern music is an asset.

You are a proactive person, capable of working in a team and under pressure. Your sense of organization and priorities makes you an autonomous person, able to manage several files in parallel, while maintaining rigor that ensures the smooth running of files. You have great adaptability and learning capacity and your creativity proposes original solution paths to the various challenges of communication projects. You are available to work occasionally in the evenings and weekends during concerts and special events.
