The FORUM of the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, is an annual event that provides a complete and free of charge pre-professional training program for musicians, singers, conductors, composers, technicians, and sound engineers in the field of contemporary music. This unique project offers emerging artists the opportunity to improve their skills in a shared, practical environment, with access to outstanding mentors and the latest developments in music and technology.

Through participation in the FORUM, individuals will not only acquire the technical expertise necessary to excel in their respective fields but also gain invaluable international visibility through our esteemed global partners. This exposure significantly enhances their prospects of entering the professional world, opening doors to performance opportunities, collaborations, and career advancements that might otherwise be out of reach.

In addition to developing the next generation of music professionals, the FORUM is committed to curating original musical events that nurture cultural integration and increase accessibility to contemporary music. These events engage diverse audiences while encouraging multicultural exchange and increasing the relationship between the artists and the public. By providing a unique platform for both established and emerging talent, the FORUM plays a crucial role in educating an inclusive and vibrant music community, ultimately contributing to the evolution and accessibility of contemporary music.

FORUM of composers

A true musical laboratory, the FORUM of composers offers talented emerging composers the opportunity to work with the NEM over a period of several days, leading up to the concert performance of their work. Thanks to the previous thirteen editions presented in Montreal, but also in Adelaide (2000, Australia), Amsterdam (2006, Netherlands) and Lyon (2008, France), 85 composers from 29 countries have benefited so far from this wellspring of musical culture.

FORUM 2025 will take place on October and November. Programme will be announced on April 30.
